WV Ready Work-Based Learning program is a semester-long course in which high school students complete a virtual internship, learn about a variety of career pathways, PLUS receive graduation credit for their participation.
- One hour virtual call with a different business every week.
- Job Shadowing Modules align with WVDE 16 career clusters.
- Rotating “live” schedule with recordings available to watch later.
- 30 minutes of job shadowing - virtual company tour, career opportunities, degrees/certifications needed.
- 30 minutes of soft professional skill facilitation by company HR.
- One business is matched with one school for the entire semester.
- The business provides weekly mentoring calls with a different company department every week.
- The business works with the class on a capstone project based on design thinking.
- Student teams present the capstone project at the end of the semester.
- Students receive a graduation cord and certificate of completion.
