March 23, 2018 - In an effort to meet the growing need for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) skilled graduates in West Virginia, today The Education Alliance announced $1.2 million dollars in grant funding for the Blended Learning initiative.  The Blended Learning program will help teachers in seven rural West Virginia schools “blend” face-to-face instruction with online resources to provide engaging, technology-rich learning opportunities for students. Read Full Press Release

 

February 2, 2018 - On Friday, February 2, 2018, nearly 100 education, business, and community leaders from across the state examined ways to increase access to Computer Science education in West Virginia schools. November 3, 2017 - On November 1st, Berkeley County Schools was awarded the “Exemplary Partnership for Career Readiness Award” for their Jump Start program in collaboration with Blue Ridge Community and Technical College. October 13, 2017 - In an effort to combat the educational achievement gap in West Virginia, an innovative early childhood education program is continuing to expand throughout the state. Today, Toyota and The Education Alliance, with the United Way, announced three new Born Learning Academies. September 20, 2017 - Why does STEM matter? Over the next several years, West Virginia is projected to have 25,000 jobs in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) related fields. West Virginia schools must meet this need by improving STEM education in schools. May 15, 2017 - Remake Learning Days will return to West Virginia with more than 30 events between May 15-26, 2017 that highlights innovation in education. Remake Learning Days--an initiative of the Remake Learning Network--are twelve days of interactive, hands-on, technology-infused, and engaging experiences in communities across West Virginia, and southwestern Pennsylvania.  Last year, more than 30,000 people attended 270 events during the inaugural Remake Learning Days.  This year, Remake Learning Days will include over 350 events. March 16, 2017 - The Education Alliance is presenting teachers in Kanawha, Greenbrier, and Nicholas counties who were affected by torrential flooding last June with approximately $55,000 in donations for classroom supplies through the “Floods of Support” campaign. January 4, 2017 - On January 9th, business, community, education and legislative leaders gathered in Charleston for The Education Alliance’s presentation of the Comprehensive Analysis of Summative Assessments (CASA) report.
