May 15, 2017 - Remake Learning Days will return to West Virginia with more than 30 events between May 15-26, 2017 that highlights innovation in education. Remake Learning Days--an initiative of the Remake Learning Network--are twelve days of interactive, hands-on, technology-infused, and engaging experiences in communities across West Virginia, and southwestern Pennsylvania.  Last year, more than 30,000 people attended 270 events during the inaugural Remake Learning Days.  This year, Remake Learning Days will include over 350 events. March 16, 2017 - The Education Alliance is presenting teachers in Kanawha, Greenbrier, and Nicholas counties who were affected by torrential flooding last June with approximately $55,000 in donations for classroom supplies through the “Floods of Support” campaign. January 4, 2017 - On January 9th, business, community, education and legislative leaders gathered in Charleston for The Education Alliance’s presentation of the Comprehensive Analysis of Summative Assessments (CASA) report. October 1, 2016 - Why does STEM matter? Employers across the nation say students with a background in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) will be better prepared for tomorrow’s jobs with strong STEM skills such as problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.   On September 29-30, The Education Alliance provided training to eight STEM Network schools across the state working to pioneer innovative STEM-education techniques and workplace learning experiences for their students. August 18, 2016 - In an effort to combat the educational achievement gap in West Virginia — where new data shows 70 percent of students are not proficient in math and half of kids are not proficient in reading — an innovative early childhood education program is now doubling in size. Today, Toyota, The Education Alliance, with The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation and the United Way, announced seven new Born Learning Academies.
